As you know, Heather teaches part-time (two days one week and three days the next week) so she can stay home as much as possible to raise her children. On the days she teaches, either Cindy (her mom) or Janice keeps the children.
Last Friday morning it was Jan’s day to watch the kids. She got there a little earlier than usual and Jackson was already up and downstairs. When Jan walked in the house, Jackson announced, “Granmama’s home!” He still thinks she lives there but for some reason is not always at home.
There is some really bad news, though, and I hate to have to share this. Recently we obtained evidence that Josh is possibly not the father of the twins. So strong is the evidence that Kevin (Heather’s dad) is wanting to have paternity DNA tests done.
They were eating out recently and while Lilly was munching away on snacks, Logan was devouring corn, mushrooms, and black olives! Obviously, he can not be a child of Joshua as no progeny of Josh would ever voluntarily eat such trash! Pizza … chicken … chips … spaghetti … lasagna … yes. Maybe even corn, as Josh has been known to eat corn on the cob. But mushrooms and olives? Not a chance.
Earlier in the week, the twins turned one year old! What a year it has been … filled with every kind of emotion and anxiety and joy and sheer fascination! Jackson continues to charm and connive his way deeper into our hearts. Lillian has the most adorable fake laugh and knows exactly when to turn it on. Logan is like a shark … an eating machine. That kid will eat stuff food into his mouth all day long if allowed to do so. On the good side, the snacks they eat are on the healthy side.
Much love, Muz. Still miss you every day and think of you often.
I cannot believe a child of Josh’s would actually eat those items! He must not be their father!
As they say in New Orleans, who dat Logan dat? Or who dat Logan’s father dat?
Peace.
Oh my…if David reads this he will divorce me. He eats nothing but meat and bread..maybe a potato if it is baked just right…my son (who looks just like his Dad) loves Mexican food and all things vegetables….
I love the “grammas home”. That must really warm Janice’s heart.
As always your words paint a picture in my mind. I can almost see Lilly doing her fake laugh, so much so that it makes me laugh. You and Janice are so blessed to be able to see your grandchildren whenever you want. All of ours live in different states and we have missed so much.
I wouldn’t worry about the DNA test; you know how some traits tend to skip a generation!
No need to worry, the kids just have a developed sense of taste. I love the England men, but based on your culinary habits, I feel that the twins just made a leap forward in epicurial evolution. Mushroom and olives are magnificent. Plus I know how you eat your prime rib and I will let that stand condemned on its own merits. Now if the kids were eating coconut creme pie, then you might worry.
Has Josh introduced Jackson and the twins to the famous “Joshua (layers of fried chicken strips-frenchfries-Ketchup) Chicken Salad?”
the twins are a year old! that year went by fast
mushrooms and black olives are very good!
[You love bananas and boiled eggs. You find mushrooms and black olives to be very good. I'm concerned about you! Is it possible that taking too many pictures with a digital camera can actually do something to one's cerebellum ... that part of the brain that controls tastes?]
What a family! Josh eats layers of fried chicken strips, french fries & catsup?? Good grief!
What I’m most interested in is what wallysdad commented about how you eat your prime rib. Please fill us in about what that is all about. I mean, Tom may not want to grill you some prime beef steaks if you’re going to ruin them, ya know?! If you won’t amplify on this, maybe wallysdad will.
Mushrooms and black olives sound great, but I’m really surprised a barely one year old will eat them. Just hope you & Josh won’t ruin the boy!
Cheers!
[I don't like any meat red, with blood running out of it. My friend, wallysdad (one of my closest friends) loves to cook prime rib and invited us over a few years ago for prime rib. I think it might have been a New Year's Eve dinner. Anyway, we eaten hundreds of meals together at home, in restaurants, and camping together, church potlucks. He and I can bag on someone else's food quicker than lightning. His prime rib that night was "over done," meaning it was exactly right for me. While no one else would touch it, Jan and I were putting it away! I told him it was only time he'd ever cooked prime rib just right. He and his wife were embarrassed by the meal. To this day I tell him how good prime rib can be when it's actually cooked until the meat is done.]

Those kids all have your and Janice’s number, all right!
I, too, love the “Grandmama’s home!” thing. That is too sweet. And I know Jan just melts. Art Linkletter was sure right when he said kids say (and do) the darndest things!
I’m with you on the red meat. I’ve got to know it’s dead before I eat it!
