Friday we had a funeral service for a man who died very suddenly and unexpectedly. For that matter, a video was shown of him jamming some blues on his Fender Strat (USA Made … looked to be an older model) the night before he died. Who could have known?

His guitar was on display at the funeral and I must admit, I lusted. Maybe covet is a better word. Let’s just say the lusting led to covetousness … but in a good, spiritual way. I was thinking just how nice it would sound in a praise band. That counts for something, doesn’t it?

Not only was the chapel filled to SRO, there were people standing all around the funeral home. I would guess well over 300 people and our chapel will only hold about 180, so you can imagine the scene.

The man was a motorcycle enthusiast, and many in the crowd were bikers, including at least one from the local chapter of the Hells Angels.

But there was one older man wearing his leather and colors that caught my attention. I asked him after the funeral if I could take a picture of his “colors.” He was very nice about it. He belonged to C.O.B.B.

Now that’s a motorcycle club I could join.

Some day.

Soon.

If I had a Harley.

Ha! That would be absolutely perfect for you if you left off the crippled part!
    Peace.

I think they actually want you to own and be able to ride a motorcycle as part of the membership requirements, but I may be mistaken.

If I could only ride a bike (any bike), I’d qualify, already being crippled!! :)

Oh, and if I had a bike. But Michael has one, so maybe I could qualify by proxy!

Leave Greg alone! He has a bike! And the baseball cards in the spokes make it sound major cool. He can catch serious air in the thing, too, in a ramp he has in the back yard. Which leads to the “crippled” part of the colors…

I think I would rather see you favorite guitar on the back of your jacket with this quote~ “Any problem you can’t solve with a good guitar, is either, unsolvable or isn’t a problem.” :)

Get the Harley and join, Greg! Go for it! We’re ALL crippled in some way or other, so you qualify on those grounds. Patrick is right. You already HAVE enough of a bike!

Speaking of Fenders – Tom & I went to see Jeff Bridges in “Crazy Heart” yesterday afternoon at the movies and he played a Fender. The movie had terrific music, Jeff Bridges was outstanding in the part and won the Academy Award for Best Actor last night for the part, and even though sad, we felt mesmerized by his performance. Two thumbs up from us for him and the movie.

Thanks for the picture. I LIKE it!

Blessings to you all today! Dee

Karon and I rented a Harley Road King in Kauai about 4 years ago and spent the day riding riding around the island. It was memorable, mostly because we got back that evening without road rash.

It would have been interesting had the family asked to put that strat in the coffin. A perilous intersect of ethics and morals.

[Can one ethically or morally bury a Strat? I think there is a higher law at work.]
